The Food Bank for New York City strives to end food poverty through a large network of food assistance programs. One of these, the Food Change, Inc., located at 252 West 116th Street offers several services including a Soup Kitchen, which provides dinner five days a week, Meal Delivery for the home bound elderly, disabled, and ill; a Family Meals Program, Breakfast, a Mini-Mart Style Food Pantry, and a Help Center for assistance with rent, mortgage, utility, and benefits concerns. All services are free and operate during the weekdays, at various times. Volunteering at the center is always welcomed and presents an excellent way to contribute to this wonderful community.
